Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao are three beautiful islands located in the Caribbean area. These amazing islands were discovered by the Dutch people, who saw the potential in them and shared their interest in them. Soon enough they started to develop them and today they are some of the most exotic and interesting islands around the Globe.
Can you play golf on Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao?
To briefly answer that question, yes, you can play golf on all of these islands and here is a guide where exactly you can do that.
In Aruba, you can play golf in 3 places – The Links of Divi Aruba, Tierre del Sol, and Aruba Golf Club.
The Links of Divi is a place with only nine holes surrounded by luxurious houses, which was designed by the famous architects Litten and Viola. Anyone who wants to play golf on this course has to pay between $80 and $90.
Tierra Del Sol is a golf course situated in the northwest part of the island, being the only professional golf course here. This golf course with 18 holes was designed by Robert Trent Jones II who wanted to take advantage of the natural surroundings. If you want to play on this course, you must pay between $90 and $160.
Finally, Aruba Golf Club is the oldest golf course here, being opened back in 1941. It is also the most unusual. Anyone who plays golf here has to be careful about the goats roaming around, but also to the oiled sand greens. Taxes here are a little smaller, between $20 and $30.
In Bonaire you will be able to play golf in a place where the wildfire has been kept intact, meaning you will not have the green grass you are used to, as a golf player. There are also special rules if you think about playing golf in Bonaire. Yet, there is nothing to be worried about because you can always ask around for those special rules.
In Curacao you have three options – Blue Bay Golf, The Old Quarry golf course, Curacao Golf & Squash Club
Blue Bay Gold is a spectacular one, right next to the Caribbean Sea, with tropical vegetation that will mesmerize you. That is what you get at a first glance. Its 18 holes can be a real challenge for anyone, no matter the level they have been playing.
The Old Quarry Golf Course is located inside the Santa Barbara beach & golf resort, designed by Pete Dye and first opened in April 2010. This naturally looking golf course overlooks the Caribbean Sea and houses a bay, also known as Spanish Water. It measures around 7,000 yards, and it is completed by a clubhouse, fully equipped. This golf course has 18 holes.
Curacao Golf and Squash Club is the latest golf course in Curacao with 18 holes and has approximately 600 members. If you are interested in playing on this field, you must know that you will be surrounded by iguanas, doves, parrots and you will experience an incredible scenery.
You have plenty of options when it comes to playing golf on these islands. All you have to do is come here and see for yourself.
