Wij zijn op vakantie geweest naar Curaçao en hebben het eiland heel actief verkend. In dit artikel deel ik graag mijn persoonlijke Top 10 van de minder bekende plekken, natuur en restaurants die je kunt bezoeken op Curaçao. Als jij nog andere tips hebt, dan hoor ik dat graag!

1. Karakter

Het restaurant Karakter is fantastisch gelegen aan de oceaan. Je kunt er heerlijk eten en ze hebben de beste “frozen cappuccino” van het eiland. Het personeel is ontzettend vriendelijk.

2. Dushi Walks

Je kunt door met gids Robert door de straten wandelen in Willemstad. Je komt lang plekken waar je anders niet zou komen. Neem absoluut je camera mee. Lees hier mijn uitgebreide verslag van de wandeling.

3. Foundation “Uniek Curaçao”

Uniek Curacao is een vrijwillige organisatie die voor de natuur opkomt. Ze organiseren ook verschillende natuurwandelingen. Het is een flinke tocht, dus trek goede schoenen aan.

4. Sol Food

Onder het genot van pizza en brownies genieten van dit uitzicht. Fantastisch.

5. Hofi Pastor

In deze regio kun je heerlijk wandelen. Geniet van de natuur en de rust.

6. Kloster Küche

Achter de kerk in Barber, vlakbij Hofi Pastor, vindt je dit kleine restaurant. Het heeft slechts 2 tafels. Ze hebben hier heerlijke pannekoeken.

7. Jojo Ala

Dit is een plekje die vooral locals kennen. Even van het gebaande pat af. Je kunt hier lekkere kippenvleugeltjes eten.

8. Baby park tutu

Deze kleurrijke speeltuin ligt naast de Goisco. Ze hebben glijbanen en schommels, maar ook aapjes en schildpadden.

9. Boka Ascencion

Indrukwekkende natuur. Ook hier worden wandelingen georganiseerd door “Uniek Curacao”, maar je kunt ook zelf rond wandelen, rijden of fietsen. Met een beetje geluk kun je schildpadden in de baai zien zwemmen.

10. Picknicken bij Santa Barbara Beach & Golf resort

Dit is een van de meest exclusieve plekjes op het eiland. Bestel een lunch en ga achter het volleybal veld zitten om het op te eten. Geniet van je lunch en het mooie uitzicht.

We visited the island Curacao and have been actively discovering its diverse places. In this article, I share my top 10 of the lesser known places, nature and restaurants of Curacao. Feel free to share your tips!

1. Karakter

This restaurant Karakter is situated at an amazing place alongside the clear waters of the ocean. They serve great food, the best frozen cappuccino of the island and their waitresses are very friendly.

2. Dushi Walks

A volunteer organization that takes care of nature. They organize walks through rough nature. Be prepared for a hike!

4. Sol Food

Eating pizza and brownies while enjoying this view. Amazing.

5. Hofi Pastor

This area is great for wonderful hikes. Enjoy the silence, nature and views on beautiful spots.

6. Kloster Küche

Behind the church of Barber, next to Hofi Pastor, you find this small restaurant. It just has two tables. They serve great pancakes.

7. Jojo Ala

A local place. Get off the beaten track and eat tasty chicken wings here.

8. Baby park tutu

Next to Goisco there’s this big, colorful playground. Slides and swings, but also monkeys and turtles.

9. Boka Ascencion

Beautiful nature. In this area, Uniek Curacao (number 3 on the list) organizes hikes. You can go for a hike yourself, or go for a ride on a mountain bike. If you are lucky you may spot sea turtles.

10. Picknicken bij Santa Barbara Beach & Golf resort

Yes, this is one of the most exclusive places of Curacao. Order a lunch to go and eat it behind the volleyball court. Enjoy the view!
